Closing as "Invalid", because the extra slash is not the problem.
Please file a new bug report for each CPU / chipset you are experiencing this 
with. Please include the output of the following commands in the new bug report:
sudo invoke-rc.d powernow.d restart
dmesg | grep powernow

You should also try the latest release / development version of Ubuntu,
because it's likely to be kernel related, e.g. Nicolas problem is fixed
in Gutsy: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=3233172&postcount=12 .
