The system is the adm64 kubuntu 24.04 beta, with all updates installed

12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-12400
Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics 730

for the server the only thing I changed is protocol, host, port, user,
password - everything else is set to the default setting

as far as I can tell this just happens when trying to upload any file,
no matter the type. it creates a 0 byte file on the server. if
attempting to overwrite an existing file, it gets overwritten with a 0
byte file

The server is x86_64 almalinux 8.9
