Hello,
I downloaded an iso of the daily build of ubuntu 24.04 the sha256sum matched.
I tried burning it using brasero it said it was an invalid image, I
tried another burner software and balena etcher same result.
Upon further investigation I could mount the exact iso with image writer
and see its contents.
ended up using dd to sucessfully put the iso image on usb.
