Hi Egil, thanks for the update. The changes look reasonable enough to me, but unfortunately I don't think we will get them in immediately due to feature freeze just happening. It'd also be nice to get these changes in upstream so it's an official backport. In the meantime I built a byobu with the changes in PR#65 that you can test out if you want.
