Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

There is no easy way to change icons for file types. If I change in the
properties dialog of a file, the icon only for that particular file.
There should be an easy way to change the icons for all files of same
type.

This is especially important for files which do not have a proper icon
by default. The problem in my case was with .jar files. These files
were displayed with a plain white icon. I was able to change the
association for all .jar files from the properties dialog of a
particular .jar file. But was not able to change the icon displayed for
all .jar files.

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
