Im using BTRFS as rootfs including apt-btrfs-snapshot.
Based on Ubuntu 13.10, I recently upgraded to 24.04 daily build (just
after the 24.04 beta was released).
Because of the many package changes on daily upgrades, the root disk
went full after a few days.
To solve the problem, I delete some old btrfs snapshots and booted the
system.
At this point, booting was no more possible: grub reported 'missing
"/bin/sh" not able to boot'.
Further investigation using a USB Live System showed that all
rootfilesystem symlinks (/bin, /sbin, /lib ...) disapeared. So I
recovered the system by reverting to the previous btrfs snapshot.
What removed the missing rootfilesystem symlinks is unclear. For sure I
didn't remove them manually!!
Are the rootfilesystem symlinks re-created during normal 'apt upgrade'
processes?
