Yes, reproducible on Gutsy.  I have Gutsy and this WAS working, and no
no longer is.  The one thing I can think of was that I just pulled the
USB cable (oops) and then got a message that I should have "ejected" the
camera.  The camera is working, and there are pictures on it, but it's
telling me "no images found."  I get the same d-bus type messages as
above:

~$ gnome-volume-manager-gthumb %h
process 20003: arguments to dbus_message_new_method_call() were incorrect, 
assertion "_dbus_check_is_valid_path (path)" failed in file dbus-message.c line 
1074.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.
