This bug can be fixed in Gutsy by adding the following lines to /etc/modprobe.conf (which is then moved to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf )
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel options snd-card-0 index=0 options snd-hda-intel index=0 model=vaio Headphones now play sound and turn off the internal speakers. However, the internal microphone still does not work - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22/+bug/175674 See the attached screenshot - the "switches" tab is new since this edit to modprobe.conf (however it is still not the same as this screenshot http://moelhave.dk/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/screenshot-volume-control- hda-intel-alsa-mixer.png , with the internal mic enabled) ALSA version 1.0.15 as per linux-backports-modules ** Attachment added: "Screenshot.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/11136509/Screenshot.png -- No sound from headphones on Sony Vaio SZ650N https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/175652 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
