Thanks for your bug reports. There have been some changes upstream that
might fix this problem. Can you please try a test package from
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/XorgOnTheEdge and report if anything is changed
to better or worse?
There is also a new "IgnoreLidStatus" option, see man radeon.
