Hi, I was having a very similar problem to this (see bug 70739). In particular the negaive temp and fan settings problems seem to be due to a broken acpi DSDT. Following this article: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=623633, I fixed my DSDT and now my temperatures are being reported correctly and the fan seems to be functioning correctly.
