Public bug reported:

After upgrading to Ubuntu 24.04 I no longer have X and now it just hangs
at boot. I created a new partition with a fresh install that works.
This one does not.

I have upgrade$ in the past before without issue but now my box is
unusable. If it was not for the other installation the grub menu would
not have been available for me to go into recovery single user mode to
collect this data.
