[Impact]

Focal: backport form bb9b0e46b84 due to different context.
Jammy and Mantic: cherry-pick from bb9b0e46b84.
Noble: stable v6.8.12 includes the fix by 88ce3fe255d5.
[Test case]
No specific test case from our side since this bug was reported by customer.

It could affect PM relevant actions.
