Thanks for responding. the words in parentheses are the error messages that pop up. As described, I tried reinstalling and it didn't work. The system thinks it's both installed and not installed, but won't uninstall it or reinstall it. Firefox is working fine, but some websites don't like it, so I used Chromium as a backup.
