Public bug reported: Determining if a release has reached the end of ESM is generally done via the information in the distro-info-data package.
However, those dates are currently limited to eol-esm, representing the end of the 10 year ESM coverage period, and do not include information on Legacy Support. The optional Legacy support add-on on top of Ubuntu Pro extends the security maintenance and support for an additional 2 years, resulting in 12 years coverage overall. That information is already publicly present in our Release Cycle page (https://ubuntu.com/about/release-cycle), with dates set for all LTS releases after Trusty. Current columns are version,codename,series,created,release,eol,eol- server,eol-esm. An additional column (e.g., eol-legacy) should be added to reflect this additional period of support. ** Affects: distro-info-data (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Benjamin Drung (bdrung) Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2073707 Title: Lack of Legacy Support information To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/distro-info-data/+bug/2073707/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
