Just a little tidbit also, for vicomte: if you have a 4xxx series wifi card like i do, here it your fix to get wifi up and running:
find and download the file V11.1.1.0_XP_DRIVERS.zip I think you can find it on the intel website. unpack it and pull out the NETw4x32.INF file (if you have a 32-bit OS) or the NETw4x64.INF file (if you have a 64-bit OS). apt-get install ndiswrapper run this command from the folder there your INF file is: $ sudo ndiswrapper -i NETw4x32.INF now run the next line: $ sudo gedit /etc/modules and add in at the end of the file: ndiswrapper This will ensure that ndiswrapper module gets loaded on every boot. Now, I hope this works for you, as it has me on my two computers! I run an Intel 4965AGN chip on one and an Intel 4229 on the other. I have yet to have a problem with the driver. Good Luck!!!
