Public bug reported:

hi folks,
2 days back i tried to install iceweasel and icedove on Gutsy (64 bit).
(before that ubuntu was the only linux flavor that detected my adsl net
connection automatically.)
icedove got installed properly.
but iceweasel refused to install ( - some conflict with firefox that was
running at that time?)
but after that my net connection was not getting detected - so i couldn't try
immediate re-install
i have to re-enter the nameservers every few mins for the connection to get
detected
so i tried to install after shutting down all programs except synaptic and
after re-entering nameserver addresses in network manager
still no go - so i uninstalled icedove also, hoping things would get corrected.
no such luck
interestingly , i noticed this same peculiar problem - having to manually enter
nameserver addresses every few mins in elive-unstable (uses icedove and
iceweasel by default)

steps to reproduce:
add software repository for installing iceweasel (debian official repo)
use synaptic to install icedove and iceweasel (while running firefox)
iceweasel will not install saying that it is trying to use same database area
as firefox or something like that
 icedove installls properly

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
