Public bug reported: friendly-names by default
https://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2024/02/29/%23ubuntu-devel.html#t18:08 ahasenack xnox: hi, still around? :) 18:08 ahasenack xnox: back in 2019, you added this change to multipath-tools: https://git.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/multipath-tools/commit/?id=8adefeb66a6628d1e27d3da32ddac70e73149796 18:08 -ubottu:#ubuntu-devel- Commit 8adefeb in ubuntu/+source/multipath-tools "0.7.4-2ubuntu6 (patches unapplied) import/0.7.4-2ubuntu6" 18:08 ahasenack xnox: we have been carrying it as delta since then, as debian rejected it (https://salsa.debian.org/linux-blocks-team/multipath-tools/-/merge_requests/4/diffs?commit_id=43b060cfdcf18c76efd12f17ebc7bbb241b39598) I believe this was to ensure that d-i installer, and installed system zfcp devices match. If you want to drop that change, that's fine, but retest that s390x subiquity installer onto zfcp devices have friendly names during the install, and remain the same/stable after the install. Or at the very least check that initrd, and live system, and installed systems all have the same multipath config with friendly names turned on by default. ** Affects: multipath-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2076598 Title: friendly-names by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/multipath-tools/+bug/2076598/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
