The toggle Fn-F1 for switching the touch-pad on and off during ten-
finger typing does not function on my CLEVO notebook. A work-around for
this is written on https://baeldung.com by Haidar Ali and Eric Martin.
Preliminaries:
Notebook with broken touch-pad toggle
Ubuntu Linux Jelly Fish
Wayland Environment
Gnome
Commands:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.peripherals.touchpad send-events disabled
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.peripherals.touchpad send-events enabled
Settings in Gnome:
Settings->Keyboard->Keyboard Shortcuts-View and Customize Shortcuts->Custom
Shortcuts->+
Enter:
First command and choose key-combination, for example Shift-Ctrl-G
Second command and choose for example Shift-Ctrl-H
Sometimes Gnome gets confused, but most of the time it works. It would
be nice if a sustainable solution would become part of Gnome. I could
not find one.
