this has been mentioned before I believe (sorry I forget specifics)

and also expected result will depend on a lot of conditions... HOWEVER
YEAH ERROR ain't great !

eg. if it's daytime locally; I don't expect to notice any effect if I
start redshift on a system (with timezone setup correctly).. though if
nightime then yes it'll redden...

(I'm also using various desktops & releases, which maybe skew my
memory..

this box currently doesn't have redshift running; starting it at
terminal gives

guiverc@d7050-next:~$ redshift-qt
"Solar elevations: day above 3.0, night below -6.0"
"Temperatures: 6500K at day, 3700K at night"
"Brightness: 1.00:1.00"
"Gamma (Daytime): 1.000, 1.000, 1.000"
"Gamma (Night): 0.700, 0.700, 0.700"
"Location: 37.80 S, 144.90 E"
"Color temperature: 6500K"
"Brightness: 1.00"
"Status: Enabled"
"Period: Daytime"

no visual effects visible can be expected (maybe not what users expect
though; but its a consequence of day)..

the location details ^ I bet though come from a config file for me
though (~/.config/redshift.conf).. also for record I'm currently using
gnome (if using lxqt redshift autostarts!) but I'd expect identical
if/when using a lubuntu session
