Public bug reported:
[I should add, that I've started with Linux, when a /boot partition of 300 MB
was considered more than sufficient. And I gave mine a generous 500 MB.]
At the upgrade from 22.04 to 24.04, I found the upgrader to stop, and inform me
about insufficient space on that /boot partition. And it suggested a bunch of
possible remedies. In principle useful, but not, when "at least 458 MB of disk
space are needed", while the partition only has a size of 443 MB.
I think, it would be a good RFE, to check if the release upgrade is possible
*at all* on this disk geometry. And, eventually, instead suggesting to create a
Live-CD and resize the partitions; if one wasn't too scared, at least.
in any case, informing the user to apply whatever means to reduce the used
space on a partition that is too small *in any case* makes no sense.
