I was having the same issue on Ubuntu 24.04 on a 2024 XPS 13 (9340) with Ultra 7. Downgrading to an older kernel seems to fix the screen tearing / system freezing. In case it's helpful for someone, you can downgrade the kernel with the following steps: 1. Open a terminal and type: sudo apt install linux-image-6.8.0-36-generic 2. Then restart your computer, can just type: reboot 3. During startup press ESC to enter the GRUB menu 4. Select: Advanced Options for Ubuntu 5. Select the kernel you installed in step one (not recovery mode)
Unfortunately now my wifi isn't working. Looking forward to a fix, thank you for working on this! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2072973 Title: Primary screen goes crazy since Ubuntu 24.04 update (6.8 fails but 6.5 works) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2072973/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
