Thanks for the bug report. It sounds like there might be an extension
crashing when it's told to deactivate. Please start by removing all
local extensions:
cd ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/
rm -rf extensions
and then log in again. Does the problem still occur? If so then please
run:
apport-collect 2078821
to collect more system information.
