Similar to LP: #2075546 livecd-rootfs may fail in autopkgtest with
problems around creation of device nodes.

Note that these tests ran in different datacenters, perhaps using a different 
base image.
/tmp is indeed mounted nodev in this case, so I expect alternate locations need 
to be used for a working directory.
