I don't have much to add to what has already been said, but to break apps on purpose is ridiculous. To force someone to use a broken package app... Why do we even need snap? Apt-get works just fine. It's just ridiculous. Fix Firefox and quit forcing snap, Firefox has no problem accessing my home partition. Even with snap installed it's reading and saving to/from the same folder my other distrobutions use, so your bit about them not being able to access anything on /home/ outside of their snap directory is bull.
