Public bug reported: apt remove gnome-maps takes out a slew of gnome apps, dependencies, etc., as part of gnome-core which it lists this in as no longer needed for autoremove to remove: ``` cheese cheese-common gir1.2-geocodeglib-2.0 gir1.2-rest-1.0 gir1.2-shumate-1.0 gir1.2-xdp-1.0 gnome-connections gnome-video-effects gnome-weather gstreamer1.0-clutter-3.0 libcheese-gtk25 libcheese8 libclutter-gst-3.0-0 libclutter-gtk-1.0-0 libfreerdp-client3-3 libfreerdp3-3 libgtk-vnc-2.0-0 libgvnc-1.0-0 libshumate-1.0-1 libshumate-common libwinpr3-3 ```
In this screen shot there are things listed that are unrelated to the removal of gnome-maps so if it's not in the list above, they are outside of the scope of this: https://imgur.com/a/rVIAbBz I was directed here from #ubuntu-offtopic I'm pulling from the oracular repos in rhino, but there's **every** reason to believe the exact same thing happens in 24.04. Can you please fix the way the dependencies work so that I can remove just gnome-maps without the ever-important cheese being removed automatically? ** Affects: gnome-maps (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2079827 Title: removing gnome-maps removes gnome-core, etc. To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-maps/+bug/2079827/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
