Ah yes, confirmed that logo.png in unity-greeter_23.10.1-0ubuntu4 does
say "23.10". It must have been corrected during packaging. And that's
the package version also used by Ubuntu 24.04 (see
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-greeter).

Yes Ubuntu stopped using/developing Unity some years ago. It's only a
community project now. It might pay to do a fresh install of 24.04.1
when you can: https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop
