** Changed in: unity-greeter (Ubuntu)
Assignee: (unassigned) => Sebastien Bacher (seb128)
** Changed in: unity-greeter (Ubuntu)
Status: Triaged => Fix Committed
** Description changed:
- After upgrading from Ubuntu 23.10 to 24.04 following the instructions in
-
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/NobleUpgrades#Upgrading_Ubuntu_Desktops_to_24.04_LTS
- (that is, with update-manager -d), everything went smooth.
+ * Impact
- However, in the bottom left part of the login screen it shows "Ubuntu
- 23.10" instead of the expected "Ubuntu 24.04".
+ On Noble in the bottom left part of the login screen it shows "Ubuntu
+ 23.10" instead of the expected "Ubuntu 24.04 LTS".
- You can find attached a picture of the login screen.
+ * Test case
+
+ - Install Ubuntu Unity
+ - start the machine
+ - check the Ubuntu version displayed on the login screen
+
+ It should match the Ubuntu serie in use, for the LTS the string should
+ be "Ubuntu 24.04 LTS"
+
+ * Regression potential
+
+ The change is just in the rules generating the logo, if something goes
+ wrong it could be that the logo is corrupted or the string incorrect
