Public bug reported:
When I disconnect my headphones from the motherboard rear jack and
reconnect it to front jack on the case, audio stops working. Volume OSD
slider is moving, but there is no description like it was before on
"Line Out" output and audio is muted. Only thing that works is restart
PipeWire service or restart computer and then is front headphone jack
working again, unless i try to re-plug it.
I have figured out that for this behaviour is responsible power management on
Intel audio driver.
Following command will turn that off and jack re-plugging work normally.
sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/snd-hda-intel.conf <<< "options snd_hda_intel
power_save=0"
I am not sure how much power can enabled power management on audio driver save
from laptop battery, i have desktop. But i am sure that this is not desired
behaviour when users expect things to simply work. It may be worth considering
to pre-configure by default Intel audio driver with power saving disabled.
