this patch is a UI related change (web ui specifically), it doesn't rely
on the patch provided on bug 2038109 . They are independent, but when
both fixed they give a smoother UX.
We can override the subnet on the UI , the API supports this, it's just
that the UI doesn't present to the user with a dialog to do it.
