It is not fixed on noble yet -- I've merely marked that the bug does not affect the development series (oracular), but is confirmed on noble. The next step is for someone to come up with the minimal patch set and convert this to an SRU (stable release update) bug. I'll try and have a look at this at the weekend.
The original report suggests we can just update to the Debian -3 release but unfortunately that seems to have been pulled due to bad merge. There is -4 release which does incorporate this fix but also includes another fix too (pcre2 use after free). If I want to include that in the same upload, I'll need to come up with a test case demonstrating the initial failure for that bug too. Or I could just cherry pick the fix for PyImport, but I don't like the thought of leaving a known buffer use after free just lying around. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2079914 Title: kodi dies with "PyImport_AppendInittab() may not be called after Py_Initialize()" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kodi/+bug/2079914/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
