Public bug reported:

Installing fonts-ubuntu-classic does not display an Ubuntu font. You can
tell because the 'u' and 'n' characters don't have the characteristic
right-angle corners.

Looking in Tweaks it seems I have to manually change 'Interface Text'
from 'Ubuntu Sans' (which does not exist) to 'Ubuntu'. And then the
correct Ubuntu legacy font is used.
