Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. I tested it on Ubuntu 24.04:

$ 3cpio -t /boot/initrd.img | grep hid-generic
usr/lib/modules/6.8.0-45-generic/kernel/drivers/hid/hid-generic.ko.zst
```
So hid-generic is included. I am marking this bug as fixed.
