Let me at least place a closing remark here. After some weeks of an unusable system, I have done nothing more than completely wipe the fresh install of 24.04.1, and done an install of 22.04.5. And, to somebodies surprise, everything once again works. From the set automounts (for which you sent me to askubuntu), and all else. Except of the bugs that I already had filed for 22.04, that is invisible grub boot menu and display trouble over the dock.
I am sure, if anybody else happens to have this type of lenovo Thinkpad, he might well want to know that neither upgrade nor fresh install will deliver any useful system. If you guys were fair, you'd add this as a remark into the Release Notes. To my own surprise, even the kernel 6.8 (automatically installed for 22.04.5 this time), doesn't seem to be THE culprit, despite of its crashes with 24.04.1 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2083285 Title: Ever Diminishing support for lenovo Helix 2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/2083285/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
