Public bug reported:
kubuntu-installer-prompt was supposed to be ported to Qt6 in order to
align with the use of Plasma 6 in Kubuntu. The code doesn't even hardly
need ported, it just needs configured to build against Qt6/KF6, some
deprecated function calls updated, and the method of drawing a
background image changed to be compliant with Qt's requirements (the
existing method of drawing a background image isn't even supposed to
work on Qt5, and I know from experience with lubuntu-installer-prompt
that the bad way of drawing a background image sometimes breaks on Qt6).
This should be a safe change, and pre-release testing will catch any
important issues.
This can *not* be done after the release of Kubuntu 24.10 as this change
needs to be present on the installer image.
** Affects: kubuntu-installer-prompt (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
