Public bug reported:

After the touchpad froze again I ran journalctl -b0 and copied the
interesting section to journalctl_-b0_excerpt.log. This is probably the
main error log for this bug.

Attached are also the outputs of
lsb_release -rd > lsb_release_-rd
cat /proc/version_signature > version.log
sudo lspci -vnvn > lspci-vnvn.log
apt-cache policy linux-image-6.8.0-45-generic
uname -a > uname_-a
sudo dmidecode > dmidecode.txt

What I expected to happen:
Normal use of the touchpad including tapping (clicking), moving cursor,
scrolling, zooming.

What happened instead:
My touchpad freezes after some time (sometimes it is frozen directly after
restart, sometimes after a few hours). I am not ables to move the cursor or do
multi touch actions with the touchpad. If I hold down one finger on the pad it
act as though I was repeatedly left clicking.

Additional notes:
1) The i2c Touchpad mode in my bios is set to advanced, otherwise scrolling and
other action with two or more fingers don't work.
2) Booting with the kernel parameters in
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DebuggingIRQProblems leads to no improvements.

I'm happy to provide more debug info and logs.
