Hi fheimes,
I have tried with macvtap network and it is working fine in this scenario too!

ANALYSIS
HOST[SOURCE](Non-MDC):
OS : ubuntu
Kernel: 6.8.0-48-generic
qemu : QEMU emulator version 8.2.2 (Debian 1:8.2.2+ds-0ubuntu1.2)
libvirt : libvirtd (libvirt) 10.0.0

HOST[DESTINATION](NON-MDC)
OS: ubuntu
Kernel: 6.8.0-48-generic
qemu : QEMU emulator version 8.2.2 (Debian 1:8.2.2+ds-0ubuntu1.2)
libvirt : libvirtd (libvirt) 10.0.0

GUEST:
OS : ubuntu
kernel: 6.8.0-47-generic

Steps i tried:
1) Started the guest with macvtap network
2) Started HTX mdt.less

root@ubuntu:~/HTX htxcmdline -sut localhost -run -mdt mdt.less

######################## Result Starts Here ################################
ECG (/usr/lpp/htx/mdt/mdt.less) Activated.
######################### Result Ends Here #################################
root@ubuntu:~/HTX

3) Started the migration, it got completed fine

virsh migrate --live  --domain ubuntu qemu+ssh://dest/system --verbose 
--undefinesource --persistent --timeout 120
Migration: [100.00 %]

4) After 1 hour also guest was up and running.

virsh console ubuntu
Connected to domain 'ubuntu'
Escape character is ^] (Ctrl + ])

root@ubuntu:~/HTX
root@ubuntu:~/HTX
root@ubuntu:~/HTX
root@ubuntu:~/HTX
root@ubuntu:~/HTX
root@ubuntu:~/HTX
root@ubuntu:~/HTX

5) I tried the migration back to the source host and that also worked
fine

virsh migrate --live  --domain ubuntu qemu+ssh://dest/system --verbose
--undefinesource --persistent --timeout 120

Migration: [100.00 %]

Conclusion:
All the scenarios are working fine!
