Looks like the service files are intended to be symlinks, so it does not appear intended that both should be installed by the user. I assume the intent was to rename upstream's service rather than to provide two, so something does feel like it's not quite right here. I suspect this is related to this debian bug regarding a dangling symlink: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=959917 So they appear to be aware of a problem but there hasn't been an update in a while. Would you mind inquiring on the Debian bug about the problem? Since we currently auto-sync the package from Debian, if the cleanup is done in Debian we'll pick up the fix in our next release automatically. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2079015 Title: Redundant systemd unit smartd.service To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/smartmontools/+bug/2079015/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
