I'm more suspicious of the app's memory efficiency, keeping in mind a single uncompressed 4K image is 24MB...
20:39:15 systemd: app-gnome-org.gnome.Settings-19194.scope: Consumed 1min 37.065s CPU time, 5.9G memory peak, 144.3M memory swap peak. But I also don't know if systemd is measuring virtual address space there or real memory usage. If I had the time then I would look at the code and make sure it's never keeping the full resolution wallpapers in memory. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2084839 Title: Settings app slows down and freezes on Appearance tab To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/2084839/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
