Public bug reported:

On the current version of patroni in the noble repos (3.2.2-2) there is
a bug with the etcd3 implementation which throws a invalid token error.

Postgresql cluster runs fine, but a switchover initially fails. When we run the
switchover a second time, it works fine.
After the successful switchover, we see the same behavior on the new primary
node when we try to switchover to the new replica node.

What to we expect to happen?
See successful switchover the first time you run the switchover command.

Exact release of ubuntu which we are using: Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS / Kernel:
6.8.0-47-generic

This has already been fixed in version 3.3.0 of patroni. See:
https://patroni.readthedocs.io/en/latest/releases.html#version-3-3-0

Github commit which fixes this:
https://github.com/patroni/patroni/commit/a8cfd46801c8de7bdfb0b68835148124da0db4f5

Is it possible to upgrade the patroni package in the noble numbat repos
to a version which is not affected by this bug?

** Affects: patroni (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Confirmed
