I tried the below scenarios as mentioned by Kautuk, i already updated Kautuk
regarding this!
Steps for 1st scenario:
i) Stop stress-ng on the VM.
ii) Do a "rm /var/run/libvirt.pid" and then restart the libvirtd service.
iii) Take a snapshot and check how much time it takes.
Tried this 5-6 times
O/p in this scenario is
date;virsh snapshot-create guest;date
Mon Oct 21 06:24:10 AM CDT 2024
Domain snapshot 1729509850 created
Mon Oct 21 06:46:32 AM CDT 2024
Steps for 2nd scenario:
i) Again do a "rm /var/run/libvirt.pid" and then restart the libvirtd service.
ii) Now run stress-ng on the VM.
iii) Now again take a snapshot and check how much time it takes.
O/P in this scenario:
date;virsh snapshot-create guest;date
Mon Oct 21 08:39:12 AM CDT 2024
Domain snapshot 1729517952 created
Mon Oct 21 09:30:29 AM CDT 2024
Because of this even virsh snapshot-delete is taking a lot of time! Almost 1
hour.
Thanks,
