It appears the machine ran out of memory and the first thing it killed
to keep the OS running was Unity7:

So being returned to the login screen is expected.

Assuming you can't just add more RAM to the machine, I can only
recommend limiting the number of browser tabs kept open because Brave
and Firefox seem to have been using most of the memory at the time.
