Public bug reported: Ubuntu 20.04 provides version 2.0.2-1 of the `recap` package as part of the universe/misc section.
On a fully-updated Ubuntu 20.04 install, Recap does not rotate its logs properly. This results in /var/log/recap growing in size indefinitely. While this has been fixed in upstream code (Recap 2.1.0), Ubuntu 20.04 repos are still distributing the older version that exhibits this bug (Recap 2.0.2). Please see this upstream github issue where the developers discuss the issue: https://github.com/rackerlabs/recap/issues/251 ... and also the fix which was applied upstream: https://github.com/rackerlabs/recap/issues/208 Is it possible to bump to the version of recap which contains this change, or backport the fix (which is to remove '17' from the trap statememt in line 246 of the recaplogs script) ** Affects: recap (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "Output of ubuntu-bug recap" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2088165/+attachment/5837181/+files/apport.recap.zr1d5od6.apport -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2088165 Title: `recap` in 20.04 does not rotate logs properly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/recap/+bug/2088165/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
