Looks good!  Here is what I did to test:

*) Built a fresh Ubuntu 24.04 system and brought up to date:
   apt-get update && apt-get upgrade -y

*) Enabled noble-proposed in the suites section of
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.sources

*) Updated apt and installed the proposed version of xymon:
   apt-get update && apt-get install xymon/noble-proposed

*) Out of the box, all checks are functional.  I let it run overnight.  
Collected data every
   five minutes with no errors.

Thank you so much for tackling this bug.  It has been many years since In 
contributed to a
project like this.  I appreciate everyone taking time to get this resolved and 
pushed back
into the distribution.
