There's some discussion upstream about switching `clamav` to only writing to the journal, and not a custom logfile. Logwatch 7.5.0+ can use journalctl.
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=904013#20 it may be a solution to change the logwatch config to following the journal instead of the logfile, at least for a workaround. I'm not succeeding in setting up the logwatch configuration correctly to call journalctl while ignoring /var/log/clamav/freshclam.log. in /etc/logwatch/conf/services/clam-update.conf I've set Logfile = Logfile = none *JournalCtl = "--no-pager --unit=clamav-freshclam.service" but I'm not sure it's grabbing the journal correctly ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #904013 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=904013 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2067608 Title: clamav-freshclam 1.0.5 and logwatch 7.7-1 fails to report To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/clamav/+bug/2067608/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
