Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
You've filed this against the ubuntu-release-upgrader tool that upgrades a system from one release to a later release; ie. you appear to have installed Ubuntu 24.04 LTS; that tool would upgrade your system to Ubuntu 24.10. Have you actually used that tool as I don't see evidence of it. That upgrade tool also works on your sources & packages, and isn't related to device features such as laptop-lid (screensaver etc is disabled when its running; if the system rebooted & you logged in on newer release, it did its job & isn't involved anymore). By recent update you possibly mean normal package updates; a look in your apt logs may allow you to see what has updated & thus you can pick what package(s) was updated on the session BEFORE the issue first appeared; it may have been a kernel update for example; thus the package to file against would be 'linux' (ie. linux kernel). Support can often help you work out possible causes (from your package update logs) too. I'll switch the package filed against to Linux (kernel related). As this report was filed against the do-release-upgrade (or equivalent) ubuntu- release-upgrade command, the additional details in this report may limit capacity to find cause & thus enable a fix. ** Package changed: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2091353 Title: system crashes on lid close To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2091353/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
