Unfortunately, they can't update the ucm conf files alone. They would
also need to update the ALSA libs to read the newer Syntax version
("Syntax 6").

I made a PPA for that a while ago: 
https://launchpad.net/~dtl131/+archive/ubuntu/mediahacks2?field.series_filter=jammy
If you use the PPA, you should be able to use alsa-ucm 1.2.11
(1.2.12 introduces another incompatible syntax change, "Syntax 7")
