The failure message said that /boot/firmware is mounted read-only.
Flash-kernel requires that the partition is mounted as writable.
Once partition is mount read-write, please, run
sudo dpkg --configure --pending
to complete the package configuration
If the problem persists, please, provide /etc/fstab and the syslog.
