I was surprised to see that my system remembers when it was installed (it was copied into the bug report).
InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-12-31 (3289 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Server 14.04.3 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Beta amd64 (20150805) Wow. That is a long time ago. It was actually several "physical" machines ago even, as I have migrated this install from one home server to another. I have almost certainly used resolvconf previously, and it is currently installed. With Ubuntu 22.04, I can remove resolveconf and use systemd-resolved's stub resolve.conf. The dns-search entry from /etc/network/interfaces makes its way into resolv.conf and name lookup seems to work correctly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2092836 Title: smbget adds a space to the server name, fails to get To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/2092836/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
