Hi Justus, Thanks for testing. We now know the fix, which is great news.
We just need to get it out to everyone now. I see the Kernel Team has just tagged 6.8.0-52-generic, but "firmware/sysfb: Disable sysfb for firmware buffers with unknown parent" isn't in there. It looks like it might be a part of the next SRU cycle instead. ubuntu-noble$ git log --grep "firmware/sysfb: Disable sysfb for firmware buffers with unknown parent" origin/master-next commit 4f3ddc70111bd257bf9fbdfe43cd58d9fb67d72c Author: Thomas Zimmermann <[email protected]> Date: Tue Sep 24 10:41:03 2024 +0200 firmware/sysfb: Disable sysfb for firmware buffers with unknown parent ubuntu-noble$ git describe --contains 4f3ddc70111bd257bf9fbdfe43cd58d9fb67d72c fatal: cannot describe '4f3ddc70111bd257bf9fbdfe43cd58d9fb67d72c' $ git log --grep "firmware/sysfb: Disable sysfb for firmware buffers with unknown parent" Ubuntu-6.8.0-52.53 (nothing) I'll see what I can do. Worst case, it will be approx 2 months away.
