Ok, the important part is the route -n, for network manager, it routes the vpn's subnet correctly, for vpnc it does not (for some reason).
I checked how vpnc is added to system menu and I am confused, how can you run it as root, do you run it in console? When I launch it through menu, it asks me for my sudo password. The command should be su-to-root -X -c /usr/bin/kvpnc.
